Practice Business Insights

Our Story

Practice Business Insights wasn't born in a boardroom.

It was born during a coaching session.

One of my coaching clients owned a growing nutrition practice. Every month she was bringing in nearly 100 new patients, yet her practice wasn't growing the way she expected.

She asked a simple question:

“Where are my patients going?”

Then came another.

“And how do I know which practitioners are retaining patients best?”

Like many practice owners, she had plenty of data inside Practice Better—but not the answers she needed to make better business decisions.

So we started with what we had.

Using her Session History report, I built a simple Excel model to better understand patient retention, practitioner performance, and where patients were dropping off. It wasn't fancy, but it immediately uncovered insights that changed the conversation.

After reviewing it together, she looked at me and said,

“Other practice owners could really use this.”

At the time, I brushed it aside. My focus was coaching, not building software.

But the idea stayed with me.

After working with an experienced technology partner, we transformed that original spreadsheet into an automated platform that connects directly with Practice Better, analyzes your data, and delivers clear, actionable insights in minutes.

Today, Practice Business Insights helps practice owners answer the same questions that started it all:

  • Where are patients dropping off?
  • Which practitioners are retaining patients best?
  • Where are the biggest opportunities for growth?

Since that first spreadsheet, the technology has changed dramatically.

The purpose hasn't.

To help practice owners make better decisions through clearer insights.

The Story behind the story

If I'm honest, Practice Business Insights wasn't really born during that coaching session.

It had been taking shape throughout my entire career.

For more than 30 years, I've helped leaders solve the same challenge across manufacturing, operations, customer experience, supply chain, and now healthcare:

How do we turn data into better decisions?

In every leadership role I held, I noticed the same pattern.

Organizations had no shortage of data.

They were data-rich but information-poor.

Teams spent hours creating reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets, yet leaders were still asking:

  • What does this actually mean?
  • Where should we focus?
  • What action should we take next?

Again and again, I found myself building ways to transform data into stories—stories that helped teams see what mattered, align around priorities, and make confident decisions.

When I transitioned into executive coaching, I realized the same principle applied to people.

As a coach, I use assessments, business metrics, observations, and conversations to help leaders recognize patterns they can't always see for themselves. Whether the data comes from a DISC assessment, a financial report, or a patient retention dashboard, the goal is the same:

Create clarity that leads to better decisions.

That's why Practice Business Insights feels like such a natural extension of my work.

It's not simply software.

It's another coaching tool.

One that helps practice owners see the story their data has been telling all along—and gives them the confidence to act on it.

Our Philosophy

At Practice Business Insights, we believe data should do more than produce reports.

It should tell a story.

Every appointment, every cancellation, every returning patient, and every trend reveals something about the health of a practice. The challenge isn't collecting more data—it's understanding what that data is trying to tell you.

That's why we build tools that transform complexity into clarity.

Not to overwhelm you with dashboards.

Not to impress you with analytics.

But to help you make better business decisions with confidence.

Because when you can clearly see what's happening in your practice, you know where to focus next.

Simple insights. Better decisions. Stronger practices.

Every practice has a story. Your data tells it.

“Other practice owners could really use this.”

A Note from Maggie

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Practice Business Insights.

Throughout my career, whether I was leading operations for a Fortune 500 company, coaching business owners, or building this platform, my work has always centered on one goal:

Helping leaders make better decisions through greater clarity.

I've learned that meaningful change rarely comes from having more data. It comes from seeing the right insights at the right time.

Practice Business Insights wasn't created because I wanted to build software. It grew from a desire to help one coaching client better understand her business. That experience reminded me that when leaders can clearly see what's happening, they make better decisions, lead stronger teams, and create healthier organizations.

My hope is that Practice Business Insights becomes more than a dashboard for your practice. I hope it becomes a trusted tool that helps you see opportunities sooner, lead with confidence, and build the kind of practice you're working so hard to create.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.
